Dawne closeupDawne Swanson, President

 

Dawne got her BS-Accounting at Northeastern Illinois University, her MBA at City University, and she has been a CMA since 1997.  Dawne has held most board positions over the years, and is excited to serve as President for the current 2016-2017 year.  Dawne is the CFO at Brown Paper Tickets in Seattle and owner of Moose Canyon Winery.  She spends her free time sailing with her husband (Mark) and dog (Capo).

Bill LooneyBill Looney, Vice President – Administration

 

William Looney has had a long accounting career primarily in manufacturing. He has held supervisory positions at Simpson Tacoma Kraft, Simpson Timber Company, and as Plant Controller for Commencement Bay Mill Co in Tacoma. In 2005, Bill started his own business consulting company as owner of William C. Looney Consulting, LLC . He accepts contract assignments related to the wood products industry involving data analysis and reporting. Bill holds an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. Bill resides in Edgewood with his wife Ronda and enjoys taking his family on trailer camping adventures around the country. He has served on the board of our IMA chapter in a variety of positions and is currently V.P. Administration/Audit Chair. 


 

Rod closeupRodney Vieira, Vice President – Membership

 

Rodney Vieira has been in the Finance & Accounting field for over 25 years. His career in Finance & Accounting started at United Parcel Service in 1991 as an Information Services Supervisor. At UPS he had several Finance & Accounting positions included Data Processing, Payroll and General Ledger along with a stint in Industrial Engineering and Operations. In 2000 he was the Controller at South Seattle Auto Auction then in 2001 he went to Weyerhaeuser as the Accounting Manager in the Recycling business. At Weyerhaeuser, he also was on the SAP Backbone Project team implementing SAP as a Deployment Lead. After the Project was complete, Rod moved to a Business Analyst role in the IT department supporting Financial Applications. Due to Weyerhaeuser’s downsizing, he went to Northwest Door, Inc. as the Finance Director in 2011 and remained there until 2014 where he moved to Miles Sand & Gravel as the Controller.

Rod has an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Accounting from Portland State University. Rod has been with the Mt. Rainier Chapter of the IMA since 2011 and had been the President of the Chapter for the previous 3 years and is currently on the board as the VP of membership.

Andreas UdbyeAndreas Udbye, Scholarships

 

Andreas Udbye, Ph.D., CMA, is an assistant professor at the School of Business & Leadership at the University of Puget Sound. His academic career follows many years in the private sector, with management roles in international trade, distribution and transportation. He was the Executive Director of the World Trade Center Tacoma 2001 – 2007. His BBA is from Pacific Lutheran University, his MBA from the Foster School at University of Washington, and his doctorate from Portland State University. At UPS he teaches financial accounting, supply chain management, and international business. He has a keen interest in supply chain risk management and sustainability issues.


 

Sean MaygraSean Maygra, Board Member

 

Sean Maygra, CPA has been a partner at BDO USA for over three years. With more than 60 offices nationwide, BDO USA, LLP provides assurance, tax, and consulting services to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies. As the U.S. Member Firm of BDO International Limited, the fifth largest accounting and consulting network in the world, they leverage their international resources and relationships from over 1,328 offices in 152 countries to serve clients wherever they may do business. The Seattle practice office features assurance, tax, and valuation professionals focused on providing superior client service, taking pride in providing a collaborative service approach through proactive communication with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their business opportunities and needs. Prior to BDO, Sean was a Senior Manager at Moss Adams, where he led the Tacoma audit practice, was part of the executive team, and worked directly with clients, boards of directors, audit committees, local universities and staff to achieve the firm’s goals. To round out Sean’s experience, he also held director positions at Milgard in Internal Audit, Financial Analysis, and Strategic Planning. His vast and varied experience in public and private accounting gives him a unique perspective. 


 

Angela McCaskillAngela McCaskill, Board Member

 

Dr. Angela McCaskill’s educational background includes a Ph.D in international business, Northcentral University (2012); Master in Accountancy, Liberty University (2014); Master in Business. Radford University (2003); B.A Accounting, Saint Martin University (1997).

Dr. McCaskill is a proud mother of four children and one grand-daughter.   Dr. McCaskill was a career accountant, having spent over 15 years in positions such as a controller or finance director.  While working full time Dr. McCaskill also taught accounting, management, and international business courses at a number of colleges and universities since 2005.  She has recently switched into academia full time where she is currently an associate professor at Saint Martin University in Lacey Washington where she teaches accounting and business courses. Dr. McCaskill is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

In her free time Dr. McCaskill enjoys traveling internationally, foreign languages, spending time with her children, watching professional football, watching her children play sports and enjoying all that life has to offer.


 

Jared PostlethwaiteJared Postlethwaite, Board Member

 

Jared Postlethwaite, CPA, CGMA has been in public accounting since 2010 and is an Audit Supervisor with Brantley Janson Yost & Ellison. He received his BA in Accounting from the University of Washington, Tacoma. The industries Jared specializes in include not-for-profit, distribution and manufacturing companies, as well as 401k auditing. Outside of the office Jared enjoys golfing, hunting, and fishing.
