Chapter Board of Directors (2011-2012) 
The IMA Mt. Rainier Chapter Board of Directors, its officers, and committee members are volunteers committed to bringing members quality activities throughout the year that further the field of management accounting, corporate finance, financial information technology, and professional development.
If you desire to further develop and fine-tune your leadership skills then chapter involvement as a volunteer in a leadership role is the place to for a safe and supportive environment among a diverse group of seasoned practitioners and leaders in their respective fields of expertise.
Board members are elected annual by members in attendence at the March general chapter meeting dinner session. Terms run July 1 through June 30. Board meetings are held on 2nd Wednesday of the month before the general chapter meetings including June, July, and August (no general chapter meetings scheduled during these months). Randy May, President
Stepping up to the plate for 2011-12 season is Randy May, CPA, CMA. A heavy hitter in the accounting field
with 30 years of experience. Randy acts as the Chief Financial Officer for many small businesses in the region,
providing professional assistance in increasing revenues and cutting costs at his firm, May & Co.
Sue Rakes, Past President
Sue Rakes was previously Chapter President, and the Membership Director before that. Sue recruits and
coordinates speakers, plans special events, and jumps in wherever needed. She has a BA in Marketing from the
Michigan State University. Sue is employed as a Senior Staffing Executive at Robert Half International. One of
her many accounting-related interests is supply-and-demand, in particular wine making. She has taken many

Dawne Swanson, Treasurer
Dawne currently serves as Mt Rainier Chapter Treasurer and has previously served as Chapter President, Chapter
Secretary, and VP-Membership. You could say she has done it all! She is a Certified Management Accountant
(CMA #18897) and earned her MBA from City University. Her responsibilites on the board include budgeting,
forecasting, financial reporting, and providing support wherever needed. Contact Dawne by emailing
Jared Postlethwaite, Assistant Treasurer
Jared currently serves as the Mt Rainier Chapter assistant treasurer. His responsibilities on the board include
assisting the Treasurer, helping with the monthly registration process as well as special tasks throughout the
year. He is employed at Brantley Janson Yost & Ellison CPA firm in Federal Way, Washington.
Ruth Perdue, Secretary
Ruth is currently the Chapter Secretary in charge of keeping order on the Board by preparing the agendas,
sticking to those agendas, preparing the minutes and assisting with special chapter projects. She has her BS
in Accounting Science from Central Washington University and she is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Bill Looney, VP Administration
Bill currently serves as the Chapter Administrator. You may ask what that means - he takes on large administrative
tasks such as by-laws management, and the chapter's annual audit. Not small tasks to take on. He holds a BA in
Business & Marketing from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University. Contact Bill
Melissa Lee, VP Membership
Melissa is our Membership Director. As director, she manages our member database, ensuring you are getting
CPE credits, and contacting members regularly to be sure the organization is beneficial to you. Melissa graduated
from the University of Washington, Tacoma with a BA in Accounting. She discovered the IMA as a student and
was a student member. She now works for Columbia Bank as a Credit Administration Accountant. Contact
